Cole and I loved celebrating Independence Day in our nation’s capital this year! It was brutally hot, but we managed to stay cool by going swimming and eating lots of popsicles. In the morning we went for a run from Arlington down to the National Mall where we watched the Independence Day Parade on Constitution Ave. We love living so close to all of the monuments and memorials, especially on a day like this!
After an afternoon of swimming, cooking hotdogs, and eating popsicles, we staked out a spot on the rooftop of our apartment building to watch the fireworks. You can see all of the boats sitting on the Potomac waiting for the fireworks to start:
