From Denmark we flew to France and we had some time in Paris before traveling to the Loire Valley. From our hotel we walked to the local coin laundry to wash our clothes, bought pastries from the bakery and milk from a small market. We walked to a park where we sat on a bench and ate our pastries and drank our cold milk and enjoyed the perfect weather. It was still early morning, but we could tell it was going to be hot and humid. After finishing our breakfast, we returned to the hotel to prepare for the day. Our hotel was conveniently located above a metro which we took to Montmartre to see the Basilica of the Sacré Cœur. We walked up hill from the metro station and found a brasserie for lunch, then continued on to the beautiful white-domed building. After visiting the Basilica, we walked over to Espace Dalí, a Salvador Dali museum with over 300 pieces, then took some time walking around the Montmartre neighborhood. We also walked along the Seine River, shared a meal at one of our favorite cafes, and stopped by the Eiffel Tower. What a perfectly hot summer day in Paris!
