The other day while out and about on the National Mall, Cole and I decided to stop by the US Botanic Garden and Bartholdi Fountain. The garden is free and open all year round.
This isn’t the Botanic Garden, but we had a quick bite at the National Museum of the American Indian where they were hosting a Hawaiian cultural festival complete with hula dancers. The museum has the best cafeteria full of flavorful Native American inspired foods like fry bread, buffalo chili, yellow corn tacos, and blue corn bread. The menu even changes with the season so you can taste a nice variety like sweet potato soup with caramelized bananas, cedar planked fire-roasted salmon, or a cup of pumpkin soup. Though delicious, be prepared because it is way over priced.

Afterwards we strolled around the Bartholdi Fountain. The fountain was created by Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi who also designed the Statue of Liberty.
I love this view of the glass conservatory and Bartholdi Fountain. I look forward to visiting the Botanic Garden in the colder months especially in February when they have their orchid exhibit.
