With the short time we had left, we agreed it would be an absolute shame if we missed The National Gallery of Art & Sculpture Garden. We strolled around the Sculpture Garden in the morning then saw paintings by Claude Monet, Vincent van Gogh, Rembrandt, Mary Cassatt, Pissarro, Thomas Cole, Raphael, Titian and many more. We did so much walking that I had to take a quick break on our way out. The weather was pleasant and it’s always an amazing to get a view of the Washington Monument.

In the evening we took the metro to Friendship Heights. We walked down Wisconsin Ave to see where Cole’s grandparents lived in Chevy Chase, Maryland. We walked through the neighborhood and parks, shopped at Chevy Chase Mall, and stopped for dinner. It was a wonderful way to wrap up our trip to D.C. We had a fabulous time and I hope we’ll be back again one day!
