The day after Christmas I said goodbye to my sweet boys and Cole drove me to the airport where I boarded my flight to LAX. From there I hopped on my next flight and slept the whole way from LAX to Guangzhou, China. I woke when the lights turned on in the cabin at 3 AM, we were served a meal, I watched a movie, listened to music, and we arrived in Guangzhou at 5 AM. I really enjoyed some downtime in Guangzhou before my flight to Chiang Mai, Thailand. I enjoyed the sunrise from the airport, played with my new camera (thank you Santa!), craved some Chinese food (noodle soup!), chatted with as many people in Chinese as I could, FaceTimed Cole and the boys (so happy to see their smiling faces!), listened to music, then boarded my flight to Thailand. I read and listened to music the entire flight to avoid falling asleep. When I finally arrived in Chiang Mai and exited the arrivals area, I was greeted by my smiling parents who welcomed me to their home away from home! “It takes a long time to get here” was the first thing I think I said to them. It was great to see them and be in Thailand with them again!
Pacific Coffee! It’s been a while since I stepped in one of these. Brings back a lot of good memories from Hong Kong…
Craving Chinese noodles soup…and can’t beat the price for a bowl of noodles in China!
The “Great Firewall of China” still blocks social media and news on the internet just like the good old days when I studied abroad in China:
Flying over Guangzhou on my way to Chiang Mai, Thailand!
