Hiking St George, Utah: Anasazi Petroglyphs Hike

My dad took us on a great hike to see the petroglyphs on the Anasazi Valley Trail (Tempi’po’op). It was a gorgeous day to enjoy the sunshine and red rocks in southern Utah!

Distance: 3.6 round trip

Difficulty: Easy

Elevation Gain: 2941 – 3206 feet

Time: 2 hours, depending on time looking at petroglyphs

Fee: No

Dogs allowed: Yes

Restrooms: Vault toilets at trailhead

This was a very family friendly hike with beautiful scenery all around. We were very impressed with the abundant amount of well preserved petroglyphs. We brought water and snacks for the kids and dressed in layers. We loved this fun hike, gorgeous views, and petroglyph history.

  • The trail is in full sun
  • Please be respectful of the petroglyphs – do not walk on or touch!
