Over Labor Day weekend, Cole and I went on a backpacking trip to Amethyst Lake in the High Uintas Wilderness in Utah. This was my first backpacking trip ever, so there was a lot for me to learn. Aside from some back and shoulder pain, I was absolutely thrilled with the gorgeous hiking weather we had and our perfect timing to see the leaves change. Cole was a great sport to teach me all about fishing, cooking and cleaning, and making a fire. Hey, I can do all these things in the comfort of my own home, but cooking in the wilderness with no clean water is entirely different!
