On Sunday visited the Church of St. Sophia. The church was built in 1907 by the Russians after the completion of the Trans-Siberian Railway in 1903, which connected Vladivostok to northeast China. The church is absolutely gorgeous! The church now houses the Harbin Architecture Arts Center which displays black and white photos of the city from the early 1900s. A mural on the main dome of the interior of the church is a rendition of the “Last Supper”. The admission fee is overpriced at 10 kuai per person but it is definitely worth it to come and admire the exterior of one of the last remaining Orthodox churches left in Harbin.
