Commencement Weekend in Washington, DC

Commencement weekend was a blast and we were so lucky to have family come celebrate with us. Here are a few highlights from that weekend back in May.  We finally took advantage of the Capital Bikeshare station by our home in Rosslyn.  We spent a beautiful day biking from Arlington, VA to Chevy Chase, MD.  We followed the C&O Canal in Georgetown and the scenic Capital Crescent Trail into Maryland.  It was such a fun trail and a gorgeous day!  On Friday we celebrated Cole’s graduation from Georgetown at the commencement ceremony on the lawn in front of Healy Hall. Later that evening we attended a gala for the graduating class of the George Washington University’s Graduate School of Education and Human Development.  The GSEHD SA organized the event so we were there early to set up and meet caterers at the Mount Vernon campus.  We were really happy with the way the gala turned out.  On Saturday morning we were up bright and early for the GW Graduate School of Education & Human Development commencement ceremony at the Foggy Bottom campus.  Finally on Sunday, GW held its university-wide commencement on the National Mall.  There were so many people there and it was such a party!  It looked like it was about to rain and pour on us, but luckily things cleared up and it turned out to be a great day!
