Harbin Ice Festival, China

The Ice Festival on Sun Island Park was the grand finale of our Harbin trip! It was jaw-dropping to see all the phenomenal works of art. Everything here is made completely of ice then beautifully lit with colorful lights. The entrance to the festival (above) is an ice replica of the Forbidden City!

The festival included an impressive ice creation of Notre-Dame:

And lots of ice slides (imagine the lawsuits)!

More churches and palaces:

And horse-drawn carriages gave tours around the festival. Good option if you think your toes are beginning to freeze.

We also explored a huge igloo and saw plenty of people slip and fall on their bums!

We climbed to the top of a massive ice staircase that offered the perfect view from the top.
