After exploring the cobble stone streets in town and riding dog sleds and horse carriages on the frozen lake, we layered on all the sweaters and hats we possibly could and headed for the famous Ice Lantern Festival at Zhaolin Park. The Ice Lantern Festival is one of Harbin’s main winter attractions. Loads of ice are carved into glistening castles, animals, bridges and mazes. Neon lights are built into the ice sculptures to colorfully illuminate the night. Hundreds of sculptures were displayed throughout the park.
