Summer in England: Hiking Castle Combe

The boys were so good and let V sleep in for her birthday while C made breakfast. After breakfast, we drove to Tetbury for lunch at the Priory Inn. The food was truly delicious! C loves his roast and vegetables in gravy, and even loved the kale! V’s shepherds pie and broccoli was so good, and the kids order pizzas that were giant! From Tetbury we drove to Castle Combe. It is absolutely magical! We walked around the village, crossed the bridge, and followed Cole’s map app to the walking footpath. It was the perfect day for a hike – we walked from the village, past the hotel, by the golf course, through the wood. We stopped to pet horses, met a sweet puppy, said hello to a herd of cows, and returned again back to the village to drive home. The boys told V to take a quick nap, then they were busy prepping the birthday surprise! V loves every one of her surprises so much! We open gifts, and enjoy birthday cake and cupcakes. The cake was from a local Bath City bakery and the flavor was an incredible Victoria sponge cake. It tasted sooooo amazing and was absolutely beautiful! And the boys loved the cupcakes too. What a perfect birthday in England!
