Nicollet Island is located in the middle of the Mississippi River near downtown Minneapolis. It is the site of the first bridge across the Mississippi River which opened in 1855. We crossed Hennepin Avenue Bridge to the island where we met up with Cole for a nice walk and dinner.
We stumbled upon Nye’s which we recognized from an episode of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives:
So we had to try some of their famous pierogies – they did not disappoint:
