Puerto Vallarta, Mexico!

On the morning of December 7th, I said good-bye to the cold frosty weather and boarded a plane to sunny Mexico! Each year my work rewards a few of its top producing agents and staff to enjoy an all expense paid trip to a fabulous destination like Puerto Vallarta. I was privileged to participate this year.

We stayed at a brand new all-inclusive resort located on the beach and over looking the Pacific Ocean. Some of my favorite highlights of this resort was the all-inclusive meals, snacks, beverages, 24 hour room service, sports, activities, and entertainment!

We enjoyed a sunset cruise and tour of the “Riviera Nayarit” followed by dinner at the La Cruz Yacht Club. We were served pineapple smoothies and cocktails while we enjoyed the sunset from our private boat. The La Cruz Yacht Club was the perfect setting for dinner. We enjoyed the most delicious quesadillas, fresh guacamole, steak and shrimp.

On the morning of our second day in Puerto Vallarta, we departed on a tour with Vallarta Adventures for Las Caletas. Las Caletas is Puerto Vallarta’s Jungle Beach Hideaway and is only accessible by sea. It was also once the private home of famous Hollywood director John Huston who directed such films as The Maltese Falcon and Treasure of Sierra Madre. On our boat ride to Las Caletas, we saw downtown Puerto Vallarta and the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe as well as the Casa Iguana Hotel. We also saw Los Arcos, the three huge rocks just off the shore near Mismaloya. A bunch of us enjoyed doing a yoga session on the beach. There was also a beach front spa for you to get your massage, snorkeling with sea lions and an ocean kayaking tour which I absolutely loved! For lunch we feasted on a tasty buffet on the beach. The rest of the day was spent reading and napping on the sand. Basically it was the perfect day! Our tour guides from Vallarta Tours were so fun and entertained us the whole way back with singing and dancing on the boat.

Our third day in Puerto Vallarta may have been my favorite. We met up with La Vista Adventures for a Canopy and ATV Tour. We were given a short lesson on how to drive ATVs then we were on our way! Never in my life did I imagine that I would be riding an ATV through the streets and jungles of Mexico! We drove the ATVs all the way up to the mountain top. The scenery was magnificent. Next, we each put on a harness and learned how to zip-line. All together there were 15 zip-lines with some being more than 2,000 ft long! It was seriously one of the most exciting things I have ever done. The zip lines are incredibly high up and you go SO FAST! It’s quite the adrenaline rush. The ATV and La Vista Canopy Tour was one of the most memorable parts of Puerto Vallarta!

Our final day in Puerto Vallarta was a free day. We had no appointments and could spend the day doing anything we pleased. I enjoyed eating tortilla chips and fresh guacamole, coconut ice cream and frozen lemonades. I also loved laying out on the beach, drinking Miami Vices (sans alcohol) and swimming in the beautiful pool. We watched friends parasailing for the first time ever and it was incredible! In the evening we headed to downtown Puerto Vallarta for shopping on its famous boardwalk. We were there just in time to see a beautiful sunset, amazing sand sculptures and to witness a parade in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe Day.
