Summer in England: St. James’s Park Playground, London

The kids wake, do their school work, V packs bagel lunches, have family prayer, say goodbye to Cole working, and we head out to the bus stop. We hop on the bus to Victoria Station, walk to Buckingham Palace then through St. James’s Park and find a place on the lawn for a picnic lunch. The kids play at the playground with a view of Buckingham Palace. They love playing “floor is lava” at the playground and we stay for over 3 hours! When it’s time to go, we walk through St. James’s Park. We can’t resist sitting in the green and white striped lawn chairs in the park, the kids chase pigeons, and it’s a great day. We walk back to Victoria Station, stopping to play in a red phone booth on the way. I’m so proud of the boys for walking London streets and through Victoria Station during rush hour like it’s no big deal, laughing and joking together along the way. We catch the train back to Clapham Junction, walk home in the drizzling rain, and the kids love it. We make dinner at home, kids snuggle up and watch a movie, then its bedtime. A great day at St. James’s Park!
