Super Blue Moon & Mackinac Bridge, Michigan

As we crossed back over Mighty Mac to Wilderness State Park, we watched the red orange sunset on our right and the pale Super Blue Moon rising on the left! It was incredible! We stopped at Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse to watch the Super Blue rise, and lights on the Might Mac shine bright. It was an amazing end to our two day visit to Mackinac Island, Michigan.

Things to Know: Mackinac Bridge

*Mackinac Bridge connects the Upper and Lower peninsulas of Michigan

*Nicknamed “Might Mac”, it is considered one of the strongest suspension bridges in the world

*It is 5 miles long and the third longest suspension bridge in the United States

*The bridge spans the Straits of Mackinac, a body of water connecting Lake Michigan and Lake Huron

*Mackinac Bridge is open 24 hours. Tolls apply.

*Mackinac Bridge is closed to traffic every Labor Day to accommodate the Annual Mackinac Bridge Run/Walk. The event attracts an average of 40,000 – 65,000 participants each year.
