Our last few days in Nassau were busy spending time on the beach, chasing seagulls, digging sandcastles, swimming, running and lying in the sun. On Thanksgiving Day to our surprise the hotel had a special Thanksgiving feast – complete with roast turkey, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, sweet potatoes, greens, corn, salads, rolls, soups, fresh fruit, chocolate fountain, a dessert buffet and all the trimmings you’d expect. We didn’t think we’d find any place to get turkey while in the Bahamas so it was a welcome surprise and quite impressive – everything was so delicious! We also appreciated not having to worry about cooking or cleaning at all. Other adventures included a visit to the pirate museum which was actually very interesting, and a trip to the Ardastra Gardens & Zoo where we got (a little too) up close with their famous marching flamingos – the National bird.
