Monday, August 21st. Our final day in Beijing together! We were scheduled to be at the Beijing International Airport around 2:30 pm in the afternoon which gave us a good amount of time to play. Of course if you are in the area, you absolutely mustsee the Great Wall of China. And as they say in Chinese, “You are not a man until you have climbed the Great Wall”. Hao Shifu picked us up early in the morning and we drove out of the city into the mountains. As we neared the area of Badaling, the Great Wall could be seen from the main road. It followed along the mountain ridge winding like a big gray ribbon for thousands of miles off into the distance.

Tourists covered this section of the Great Wall, so we hiked in the opposite direction:

The Great Wall of China follows the top of the mountain ridge high and low, making some parts incredibly steep to hike:

When it was time for us to depart back to Hong Kong, we made our way back to met Hao Shifu. On our way we made a new friend, a seventy year-old camel!
Our trip to Beijing was perfect and we all had an amazing time! I am more excited than ever to live in China. It is like unlike any place in the world! Now back to Hong Kong:
