We enjoyed a gorgeous morning basking in the sun and exploring Wat Phra Kaew, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. Located within the Grand Palace at the center of Bangkok, this temple is considered to be the most sacred in Thailand. The main building houses the Emerald Buddha, a statue carved from a single jade stone (the word “emerald” in Thai refers to the dark green color and not the specific stone). The statue is so sacred that no one but the Thai King is allowed to touch it. It was the perfect day to immerse ourselves in the shimmery gold and vibrant colors of Bangkok’s brilliant architecture and style.
