We bus to the London borough of Richmond upon Thames. There are so many cute little alleys, stores, red phone booths, green parks, pubs, and flowers everywhere you turn. It is a beautiful sunny day! We have lunch at an Italian restaurant, visit the Alligator’s Mouth bookstore, walk through Terrace Gardens, stroll through the fields and cross wood stiles and kissing gates, walk down by the river front, under the bridge, admire the boats, listen to troubadours, sit on the lawn to snack and drink hot cocoa from M&S and Knoops. We walk to Richmond Park, play at the playground, walk up Sawyer’s Hill, see the telescope on King Henry’s Mound, see Windsor Castle and the unobstructed view of St. Paul’s Cathedral, walk to a charming thatched roof cottage, a pollinator garden, the poet’s corner, then walk out of the park and back onto the city streets to find a bus stop. We hop on a bus through charming neighborhoods back to Richmond bus station and walk to a restaurant for dinner. We eat outside under the beautiful rainy sky, then in the evening we catch a bus home. A beautiful day in Richmond! We put the kids to bed then C gets ready for his business trip to Ireland.
