In the morning we clean up our Airbnb, checkout, and take a taxi from our London flat to St. Pancras to catch the Eurostar to Paris via the Chunnel. We eat snacks we brought from the flat while we wait at the station. After our most recent experience at JFK Airport, we say we will always be EARLY for boarding from now on! The kids were so good, carrying their own bags through the Eurostar lines and immigration, waiting until the platform is announced, walking to the train car, loading up on the train, and getting seated. We kept busy with snacks on train, reading books, and watching a movie. V takes a nap. We teach the boys to say “Bonjour” and how important it is to say it to everyone. We finally arrive in Paris and everyone is so excited! We wait in line for a taxi, and the security guards say to the boys “Bonjour Monsieur” it was so cute! The boys say “Bonjour” and “Merci” and “Au Revoir” to everyone – all the taxi drivers and train station staff. Everyone we meet is so happy and friendly and enjoy hearing these little American boys speaking French to them! We drive to the Airbnb and the taxi driver gives knuckles to all the boys. So cute! We bring all the luggage upstairs to the flat. We are greeted by our host and we all say “Bonjour” and “Merci”! She is so sweet and nice and doesn’t speak much English at all and is so welcoming! The Airbnb is absolutely amazing! Floor to ceiling open windows with lots of sunshine and a cool breeze! It’s two levels with hardwood floors, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and four patios! Outside on the patio is an apple tree, garden, views of the Parisian rooftops and chimneys, church bells ringing across the street and view of the sunset! It’s like a penthouse! We say “Merci” and “Au Revoir” to our host. She loves the boys and pinches our littlest one’s cheeks. We get settled and rested. V passes out asleep on the bed. Everyone relaxes and C orders food. After dinner we get ready for bed. All three kids are in one room. The windows are wide open for the nice breeze, fan blowing, and all the kids sleep without their shirts. It is so perfect for summer in Europe. The kids look so cozy, and we just are so in love with them! C walks to get groceries and carries them back in the backpack. England and France don’t do plastic bags, so we always bring our own backpack. Bonsoir!
