Summer Fishing on Lake Minnetonka, Minnesota

A gorgeous day to celebrate Cole’s birthday by fishing on Lake Minnetonka with family!

We hired our favorite fishing guide service, Tonka West Guides, because they know Lake Minnetonka fishing so well and provide all the fishing equipment including boat, poles, bait, and life jackets. We only brought food, drinks, and our fishing licenses. We were on the lake all day and caught so many fish! Lake Minnetonka is so beautiful in the summer and we had such a fun time catching fish.

Back in the winter, we rented an ice fishing house on Lake Minnetonka from Tonka West Guides. When we arrived the house was already warmed, the holes already drilled, and the house was stocked with bait, rods, and everything we needed for fishing. The ice was 25 inches thick on the lake that day so we were told we could drive our truck right out onto the ice and park next to the house! It was wild. Ice fishing was definitely one of our favorite winter experiences in Minnesota. It was absolutely fantastic!
