Celebrate Valentine’s Day at the Minneapolis Institute of Hearts, Minnesota

One of my favorite ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day in the Twin Cities is by visiting the Minneapolis Institute of Art (Mia) for their “Institute of Hearts” event. This free annual event is an opportunity to share the love and admire more than 100,000 works of art representing 5,000 years of world history. Guests are offered paper hearts to leave by their favorite masterpiece. It’s fun to see all the paper hearts scattered on the gallery floors throughout the museum! Come feel the love and visit Mia the week of February 14 to pick up your paper heart from the visitor experience desk in the lobby. Admission to Mia is FREE and no tickets required for this event.

Mia’s Family Center is a drop-in space for families. I love their kid-friendly art books and toys. They also had an exhibit of children’s artwork. It is a great space for little museum-goers to enjoy! A private restroom and nursing room are available. Open daily during museum hours.
